Why Do My Kids Need a Children’s Vitamin?

For any parent, the most important thing in the world is the health and well-being of their children. And while we have more knowledge now than ever before in history about how to keep our children healthy, statistics tell us that we’re falling behind. In fact, it’s become quite clear that our children are not as healthy now, on the whole, as they were in previous generations.

  • Childhood obesity has tripled since the 1970’s. Currently 13.9 % of 2 – 5 year olds, and 18% of 6 – 11 year olds are clinically obese.

  • Mental health and digestive health are intimately connected. There is substantial scientific evidence showing that digestive disorders can trigger mental health issues including depression, anxiety, stress, confusion, and even autism.
  • Speaking of autism, today 1 in 68 children suffer from some level of autism, an increase from 1994, when that number was 1 in 150. While part of this increase is due to improved reporting, it is also evident that there are changes in the population at large.

While many factors contribute to the decline in children’s health, ALL of the factors can be traced to two simple concepts:

  • Toxicity
  • and/or Deficiency

Toxicity:

Starting in the 1960’s, we can easily chart the statistics of chemicals, toxins, and heavy metals unloaded into our air, our water, our food, and our homes. All of these toxins take a toll on our health, depleting our natural stores of key nutrients.

Common sources of “environmental toxins” include:

  • Polluted Air
  • Polluted Water
  • Pesticides and Herbicides

Deficiency:

In addition to the toxicity we all experience just by going through our lives, we, as well as our children, are suffering from nutritional deficiencies due to these factors:
