How to use it

Pull the shot and pour the art in one glass

Our numbers for a latte, with Ovalware's own notes on the glass. Pull a double straight into it, pour in the milk, then let the dishwasher handle the rest.

Pouring latte art? Start the pour high so the milk sinks under the crema, then bring the pitcher close to the surface to draw the pattern.

  1. Step 1

    Pull a double

    Pull a double, about 60 ml, straight into the glass. At 2.8 in tall, Ovalware made it to slide under an espresso machine spout.

  2. Step 2

    Pour the milk

    Add about 190 ml of steamed milk. Ovalware says the wide mouth and rounded base help the milk flow for latte art.

    Wash

    Into the dishwasher. Ovalware lists it as dishwasher safe and says the double-wall seal is permanent.

About these glasses

Will it fit under my espresso machine?

It's 2.8 inches (about 7 cm) tall, and Ovalware made it that height to slide under an espresso machine spout. If your machine has at least that much room between the drip tray and the spout, it fits.

Is 250 ml right for a latte or a cappuccino?

It's sized for a latte. Our recipe, a double (about 60 ml) plus about 190 ml of steamed milk, fills it. A cappuccino uses less milk and more foam, so it sits a little lower in the glass.

What are the white and gray finishes?

Ovalware hasn't said what the Frost White and Stealth Gray finishes are made of, so we make no claim about them yet. Clear Glass is borosilicate glass, inside and out.

Will it sweat with a cold drink?

No. Ovalware says the double wall keeps condensation off the outside, so your hand and your table stay dry.

Does the outside get hot?

Not the way a single-wall glass does. Per Ovalware, the double wall keeps the outside comfortable to hold, even with a hot latte inside.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

Yes. Ovalware lists it as dishwasher safe and says the double-wall seal is permanent.

Is it microwave safe?

Ovalware doesn't list it as microwave safe, so we don't either. Steam or heat your milk separately, then pour it in.
